Admitted Student Checklists

  1. Accept your offer and enroll

    Available Now

    To enroll in the 酴圖弝け Semester Program, please submit your enrollment deposit of $400 online:

    • Create your using your AU ID, which can be found in your acceptance email.
    • Log into with your myAU username and password to泭pay your non-refundable deposit by e-check or credit card.


    Please note that this deposit is nonrefundable and will be held in your student account to be credited toward your tuition.

  2. International Students Only

    Initiate the process of requesting your J-1 visa

    To proceed with the immigration process, submit the following via the application portal:

    • A copy of your passports biological page
    • An official bank letter stating you have the finances needed for your semester
    • A completed, signed, and dated CFIS form

    Students who are new to American University must register with the Academic Support and Access Center (ASAC) by submitting documentation and completing the three-step process outlined on their website.

  9. AU Health Insurance

    Students from U.S. Schools

    To Enroll:
    Use your AU ID # and PW to login

    OR

    Waive AU Health insurance泭

    You can only waive the insurance after you are registered in 12+ credits泭and the Health Insurance charge appears on your student account. This is available on May 14.泭

    Students from International Schools

    All泭students from international schools are required to enroll in泭AU's health insurance during their semester(s) in the 酴圖弝け Semester Program. You will automatically be enrolled in AU health insurance after you are registered for courses by your academic advisor.

    Confirm your financial aid, billing, and payment arrangements with AU and your home school.

  14. Pay your泭bill

    Available late September

    How and to whom you pay your AU bill is dependent泭on our arrangement with your homeschool. Eagle Service may not reflect the correct amount until a later date when everything is finalized. Check in with the WSP Team for specifics on your account.

  15. Add/Drop Course Deadline

    Available after submission of pre-registration form

    Email your Academic Advisor to request any needed changes to your course registration.

    September 9泭is the last day to add or drop an elective course or research project. Courses dropped after Sept 9泭will be recorded with a W on your AU transcript.

  16. Request necessary changes to courses

    Available after submission of pre-registration form
    Email泭the泭WSP Team泭泭to request any necessary changes to your registration. January 27th is the last day to add or drop an elective course or research project. Courses dropped after January 27th will be recorded with a W on your AU transcript.

  17. Submit the Experiential Learning Form (ELF) & begin your practicum

    Complete this after you confirm an academic training placement
    Begin your academic training and complete the within the first 2.5 weeks of the semester.泭
