At this age, most babies say their first words. Your baby will collect new words to use, and she may say about a dozen words by the end of this stage. Expand her one-word response by stretching it into a sentence. Go a step further by making up a story, rhyme or song that has to do with your babys new favorite word!泭泭

Baby: Dog泭
You: Yes, its a dog. He has very soft fur.泭 泭
Baby: Dog泭
You: Yes. Look at the cute dog!泭
Step 2:泭Take it further by making up a song, rhyme, or story about your babys word. For example:泭
That little dog is black and white.泭
He doesnt bark and he doesnt bite.泭
Hell run around and sit and stay.泭
Throw a ball! He loves to play!泭
Hell sniff your hand and give you a smooch.泭
This little dog is one nice pooch!泭
