Get to Know Me
Dr. McClure is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist. She graduated from Old Dominion University, earned her medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency at Christiana Care Health System.
Why Am I An Ob-Gyn with the Advanced Delivery Program?
The delivery room is one of the few places in a hospital where people plan and/or hope to visit at some point in their life. Often, the room is a happy place, but many emotions can fill that room, including anxiety, hesitation, or fear. I am honored to join a family in a delivery room and to serve as their “safe person,” their educator, and their advocate. I believe that there is a difference between being cared for and feeling cared for, and my goal is to bridge that gap for each patient I meet.
What I'm Passionate About
Compassionate, safe and informed health care is a right, not a privilege. I believe that all people deserve to understand the details of their health journey, to know their options, and to be supported when they have selected their best next step. My “gold star” days are when a patient tells me, “I feel like I’ve learned so much today!”
How I Try to Make A Difference
I love teaching people how to advocate for themselves, especially our younger generation! This applies to working with patients, interacting with residents, and even raising my kids. I hope that, together, we can build a world where people are offered what they need and are supported when they speak up for the things that are missing.
